The Halifax goals came from Jamie Patterson after ten minutes and Graham Cooper in the twenty-fifth minute. For Leeds, Steve Nicholson came on at Centre Forward in place of Bobby Davison a minute before Half-Time, and Mel Sterland replaced Simon Grayson in the fifty-eighth minute. Leeds Unused substitutes were Edwards and Nicholls. Halifax brought on Graham Cooper for Greg Abbott at right half after sixteen minutes, Bob Barr at right back for David Evans after fifty-eight minutes and finally Kevin Megson for outside right Jamie Patterson, seven minutes later. The unused substitutes for Halifax were Chris Lucketti and Neil Griffiths. The Match Receipts were £9,595. Referee Steve Bell (Huddersfield).
